River Urke aka Ziibi
River is the Senior Editor, founder, creator, and writer of The River. River has the heart of a poet and the eyes of an artist. She lives in the US along the St Croix Valley in the state of Minnesota with her daughter Willow, her boyfriend Tommy, and all their pets. Her adventurous spirit carries her writings through genres while her necessity to create blends with many mediums. River’s writings and artistic touches reflect her Ojibwe and Celtic heritages along with her life as a mother, an abstract thinker, and an American woman. Tommy Blackwolf aka Twowolvz
Tommy is the Creative Writing Editor and writer for The River. He is a poet and muscian living in the upper Midwest of the US. His poetry reflects his Native American heritage and his ponderings of life and love as he walks through his days. Often, Tommy brings his way with words into his music through the songs he writes and performs with his guitar. He is one that needs to write most everyday and says he writes to escape, vent, and envision. You can find Tommy’s poetry and music at Wanderings of a Poetic Mind.

Sheila is the Photo Editor and writer of The River. She is an avid writer and photographer and unfledged painter who is grateful for the ability to notice the color, beauty and miracles in life. Michael Dekel
Michael is the Multi-Media Editor and writer of The River. A poet, photographer, digital artist, and musician, he has dabbled in cast-metal sculpture, painting, mixed media, and sketching as well. He co-edited Voices Israel Volume 36 (2010). He lives in Jerusalem, where sometimes he teaches writing and media analysis courses in higher education. Recently he has been writing for documentary film projects in collaboration with Israeli filmmakers.
